The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was established in 1971. The Ministry plays a major role in bolstering relations between the State of Qatar and other countries at the regional, Arabic and Islamic levels through its different Departments. The Qatari foreign policy is based on firm principles of establishing peace, security and stability and recognizing the resolutions of the United Nations of the right of the world's nation of self-determination.
